The Swargdwar Seva Samity known as (SSS), puri is a non-profit non-political welfare organization registered under society registration act 1860 and established with an objective to develop and provide better services and good governance of Puri Swargadwar. The Collector-cum-District magistrate, puri acts as the Ex-officio Chairman of Swargadwar Seva Samity and Sub-Collector,Puri acts as the Convener-Secretary of Swargadwar Seva Samity. Apart from this, with other line department officials, three nominated civil society representatives from different fields are included as the governing body members of SSS.

 As per the Hindu mythology, Puri Swargadwar is believed to be the Gateway to Heaven by millions of Hindus from time immemorial and regarded as a dignified and sacred place of final rest. Keeping this religious faith and sentiment in mind, the Government of Odisha has decided to improve the ambience of Swargadwar and to make it a safe place for mourners, users and to ensure hassle-free cremation of bodies of the deceased brought to Swargadwar and to provide the kith and keen of the departed soul a comforting experience in the hour of emotional distress. For this purpose, SSS was constituted under society registration act 1860 in order to provide all facilities for a decent cremation, to make Swargadwar, a holy place of mother earth, safe & secure place for the mourners, who bring dead body of their near & dear ones for a decent cremation as per Hindu religious customs. In order to provide all facility for a decent cremation,  the samity has established a single window facility i.e. (Swargadwar Seva Kendra) engaging adequate number of sevakas (volunteers) round the clock.
